Hello I'm Dave 

    I am a painter and draftsman currently studying Painting at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. My work explores light, atmosphere, and careful observation through watercolor, oil, and charcoal. I treat painting as a form of visual recording—documenting moments that stop me in my tracks because of their beauty.

I am drawn to loose, painterly brushwork and the expressive possibilities of a bravura approach. Rather than describing every detail, I enjoy discovering how a minimum of means can come together to create a convincing sense of light, atmosphere, and form. There is something deeply satisfying about placing paint onto a surface and watching simple marks evoke the feeling of standing before a landscape, a building, or a quiet corner of the world. That transformation from brushstroke to lived experience—is at the heart of my practice.
